Who I am

Teddy, 37, Brittany. I design, code and ship my iPhone apps by myself.

How I got here

I started like a lot of people: with an app idea sitting in the back of my head for years and no idea where to begin. What unlocked it was accepting to go small. One function, one screen, something I needed myself.

Since then I have been building iPhone apps solo. I do all of it: the design, the mockups, the Swift code, the App Store artwork and the copy. That is a lot of hats, and it is exactly what I enjoy.

How I work

I always start from a problem I have lived. Marmite was born on an evening where I paused a TikTok video fifteen times to write down the amounts in a recipe. When the problem is mine, I can recognise the right solution.

I use AI without handing it the wheel. It helps me write code, explore options, unblock a syntax I do not know. It saves me a considerable amount of time. But I read everything, and I write the part that touches your data myself. An app that works in a demo and breaks in real life does not interest me.

I ship when I genuinely use it. The test I set myself is simple: do I open the app on my own, without forcing it, because it is useful to me? As long as the answer is no, it is not ready.

Why this site

Two reasons. The first is having a place of my own to present the apps as something other than a five line App Store listing. The second is keeping a notebook.

I learn an enormous amount building these apps, and most of what I learn is written down nowhere. So I write it here, including the parts that go wrong. It is what I would have wanted to read when I started.

Getting in touch

I read my mail every day and I answer it myself, at contact@lezbroz.com. A bug, an idea, a recipe Marmite chokes on: write to me, that is how the apps get better.
